We are riding to honor the life of Alex Devincenzi.

Alex was the son of two very good friends of mine. He passed away on April 12th, 2009 at only 5 months of age due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a terminal genetic disease. Triana and I are riding the Courage Classic in memory of Alex and to raise money for the Children’s Hospital where he spent the majority of his life.

The Courage Classic is a three-day tour around Copper Mountain in July 23-25. We will ride up and down some of the most beautiful mountains in Colorado for a total of 150 miles. To top if off, Triana will be following me in her trailer and we believe she will become the first 1-year old baby to ever complete the entire Courage Classic -- Pretty special!

Melisa and Damond -Alex’s parents- like to say that every child should be able to ride a bicycle at least once. So Triana and I will be riding on Alex’s behalf, knowing he is joining us in spirit.

We are also riding to recognize Melisa and Damond, who have shown extraordinary strength and are an example to all of us.

Please, consider donating to our cause; your contribution will be greatly appreciated by sick children and their families. Donations can be made at our rider page:

Even if you can’t make money donations, we absolutely welcome your verbal support. Your supporting comments give us strength and motivation.

Cheers Alex. You are always in our hearts.

I'm amazed at your strength and enthusiasm to take Triana on such a magnificent ride. I hope someone takes some video of her so she can see it later when she's older.
